Leave No Trace

While we want to inspire others to soak in as much of the world as possible, to get after your dreams and explore, to take the path less travelled we also want others to respect our fragile planet. We strictly follow the Leave No Trace Principals while on our adventures, and encourage others to follow the same. We've seen places explode with travellers due to the popularization of locations making a visit impossible due to the lack of parking or unenjoyable due to the large amount of people, and heard of locations being permanently shut down because of the deterioration of the ecosystem, or from wild animals attacking people as the animals had started to rely on people for food.

The 7 Principles of Leave No Trace are:
  • Plan Ahead and Prepare
  • Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
  • Dispose of Waste Properly
  • Leave What you Find
  • Minimize Campfire Impacts
  • Respect Wildlife
  • Be Considerate of Other Visitors

And with social media increasingly playing a role in the promotion of various outdoor locations, Leave No Trace recently posted a New Social Media Guidance:

  • Tag Thoughtfully
  • Be mindful of what your images portray
  • Give back to places you love
  • Encourage and inspire Leave No Trace in Social Media post

As Leave No Trace states on their site it "isn't black or white, right or wrong. It's a framework for making good decisions about enjoying the outdoors responsibly, regardless of how one chooses to do so. If outdoor enthusiasts stop and think about the potential impacts and associated consequences of a particular action, it can go a long way towards ensuring protection of our shared outdoor spaces."

Please be responsible adventurers, and leave a positive impact rather than a negative one. We all want the future generations to enjoy what we have.
